Cholera kills seven, nine hospitalised in Plateau from guardian news

SEVEN people have been reported dead in the outbreak of cholera in
Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau State. The
report, obtained from the Information Unit of the council, added that
nine others are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at the
General Hospital, Langtang and other health facilities.
Sympathizing with the victims of the cholera outbreak at the
Langtang General Hospital, the council chairman, Daniel Dul, elected
on the platform of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), lamented the
unfortunate incident and called on the people of the area to practice
good sanitary habits.
Meanwhile, member representing Riyom/Barkin Ladi Federal
Constituency in the National Assembly on the platform of the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Istifanus Gyang, has
described as very unfortunate that the much-touted change that was
promised is being manifested in the leadership crisis on the floor of
the National Assembly.
Gyang, who was fielding questions from journalists, likened what
happened to a culture of thuggery and violence that has been
imported into the floor of the House of Representatives, “and we of
the PDP condemn in strong terms that culture of violence, culture of
thuggery, culture of indecency and we want to apologise to Nigerians
that this had to happen. But I am apologising not on behalf of PDP,
maybe a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) can better
apologise to Nigerians.”
