Maddie & Tae Announce Headlining Tour

Maddie & Tae, performing here at FarmBorough in New York in June, will embark on their own headlining tour in the fall.

Breakout country duo take to the road in support of their debut album, 'Start Here'

Maddie & Tae — the breakout duo who skewered the bro- country trend in 2014 with "Girl in a Country Song" — have announced their first headlining tour. Calling the trek their Start Here Tour, the run kicks off October 7th in New York City and will make stops at 12 clubs and listening rooms in all.

Made up of Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye, the young duo has
made a big impression on country fans since "Girl in a Country Song" climbed to Number One on Billboard ’s Country Airplay chart, earning critical praise, nominations at the ACM Awards and CMT Music Awards and a spot on Dierks Bentley’s Sounds of Summer tour. Their debut album, also called Start Here , was produced by Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban) and is set for release on August 28th.
"Maddie and I wanted to get out and play all the songs from this new record," said Dye in a press release. "We've spent a few years writing these songs, figuring out how to say what we thought was important about being our age, and figuring out how to create our kind of music, so before we get back onto someone else's tour, we wanted to take some time and show people all of who we are!"
Marlow went on to call touring with Bentley the perfect apprenticeship. "He has such a great sense of how to connect with the audience, but he also understands how to keep music the focus. . .to make sure the playing and the songs don't get lost in the fun of it. To write songs that matter is one thing, to bring people inside them is another," she said.
Their month-long tour will visit major markets like Boston, Houston and Detroit, as well as mid-sized cities like Portland, Maine; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Springfield, Illinois; before wrapping at Chicago's bastion of country music Joe's on Weed Street on November 7th.
As well as being a Number One hit, "Girl in a Country Song" also earned Maddie & Tae a gold certification from the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 units. Their second single, the empowering anthem "Fly," has just cracked Billboard 's Top 20, and combined with news about the new album and tour, the two friends say it feels like their dreams have somehow
become a reality.
"A lot of what’s happened to us is a blur," Marlow said.
"With the album almost here and this tour being announced, it finally feels like we're catching up with ourselves and our dream."

Maddie & Tae will continue on Bentley's Sounds of Summer Tour through September 18th in New Orleans, before launching their trek in October.
