The 22-year-old insists the Paris Saint-Germain striker is not the difficult figure that people believe him to be and says the Swede is "almost normal"
Lucas Moura says Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic
is a "very nice guy" in real life and is very different to the man fans and
media see on the field.
Ibrahimovic has earned a reputation of possessing a difficult personality, having been involved in several controversial incidents on and off the field over the years.
However, Lucas insists the Swede is not the pretentious figure people
believe him to be, but admits he does not try to be popular.
"He is very different from what people think - he is a very nice guy in
real life," L'Equipe.
"He treats everyone really well, but he has a profile that everyone knows about. He says what he thinks - if he does not like someone he lets them know. He is not trying to be popular.
"On the field, he has that explosive behaviour. He complains, insults
and all of that, but I think it's almost normal for a striker.
"He has a will, an ambition to win, to score goals, to win, which is
huge."
The Brazil international also touched on the differences between former
PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti and current boss Laurent Blanc.
"Carlo Ancelotti was more of a kind of father figure, I would say that he
had more affection for the players. Laurent has that too, but more
for the French. Ancelotti was more in touch with the emotional side and
the personal life of players."
The 22-year-old was left out of the Brazil squad for the Copa America
this summer, adding to the misery of missing out on the World Cup, but
he is confident of getting back into the team.
"I always have the Selecao in mind, of course it's a goal," he said. "It is
a great pleasure to be in the national team, a great satisfaction. But I'm
only 22 and I have plenty of time to return to it.
"I am at peace, but I must respect the coach and his choices. "Of course there was this feeling that I could have helped in the tournaments, especially the World Cup - that's the dream of every player, particularly when it takes place in your own country. But I don't think about the past, I'm looking to the future, I will aim for the 2018
World Cup."
