The US Same-Sex Verdict And Its Implications

FREEDOM is good, but it must have a reasonable limit. For the
average man, freedom needs to be checkmated or else it may lead to
disaster. This is what is playing out right now in the United States of
America, the country that prides itself as upholding the freedom and
integrity of humans. Against all sound moral judgment, the Supreme
Court gave a very controversial ruling, when it pronounced that
states cannot keep same-sex couples from marrying and must
recognise their unions. This is simply outrageous!
Who dictates how humans should live? Humans or the Creator? What
gives humans the right to go against the dictates of the Creator by
fashioning for himself what is right or wrong? Are we now changing
the human biological disposition by given men womb to carry babies
and vice versa? What is happening to our family values?
For those who have been watching the unfolding drama keenly over
the years, it did not really come as a surprise. For long, the powerful
pro-gay agencies in governments all over the world have been
infiltrating the economy, and positioning themselves into positions of
authority, even in the judiciary and the Church. Remember the issue
of the Anglican Church in England appointing a gay bishop, which led
to Nigeria pulling out. For long, they have been going round the
world in the name of giving grants and providing lifeline for the poor
and the needy, while secretly projecting their hidden agenda.
Is it not about time that the rest of the world wake up from slumber
and see the sinister plot to turn our value systems upside down?

Wisconsin man allegedly threatens to kill President Barack Obama

Washington (CNN)— A criminal complaint and arrest warrant were
issued Thursday against a 55-year-old Tomah, Wisconsin man
accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama.
Brian D. Dutcher, 55, allegedly told a security guard at a La Crosse
library, "the usurper is here and if I get a chance I'll take him out and I'll
take the shot," referring to Obama, who was in Wisconsin promoting his
proposal for overtime pay reform.

According to the warrant, Dutcher confirmed in an interview with the
Secret Service that he made the remarks to the security guard.

that "he would not have said what he said if he didn't intend to carry it
out."

Francisco with her father when there was a single popping sound in the
air.
She fell to the ground, struck by a bullet, the victim of what police say
appears to be a random killing.
The man accused of firing the deadly shot -- 45-year-old Juan
Francisco Lopez-Sanchez -- is an undocumented immigrant, a repeat
felon who has been deported five times to Mexico, according to
immigration officials.
It would have been six, a federal law enforcement source told CNN,
except authorities in San Francisco wanted him on a drug-related
warrant.
So U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which had Lopez-
Sanchez in its custody in March after his release from federal prison,
turned him over to San Francisco deputies. ICE said they requested an
immigration detainer, asking that the agency be notified before Lopez-
Sanchez was released.

Van Persie Joins Nani In Fenerbahce

Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie is edging closer to a
move to Fenerbahce after reaching an agreement in principle with the
Super Lig side, reports theguardian.com.
It is understood that Van Persie’s agent, Kees Vos, has been in
Istanbul for the past two days, involved in negotiations with the
Turkish club to secure a deal. The two clubs are currently negotiating
a fee for the 31-year-old, who has agreed personal terms with the
club and is ready to sign a four-year deal.

ONGOING conversation regarding the unstructured distribution of
movies in Nollywood will soon yield results, as filmmakers continue to
lament the poor state of distribution of films in the country. Many say
the situation makes it difficult for them to remain in business.
Indeed, critics and practitioners see the lack of proper distribution
mechanism, as having devastating effect on the producers and their
ability to earn revenue, even though a few of them have deployed
innovative strategies, including self distribution to get their movies to
the right places. Even the National Distribution Framework (NDF)
introduced by National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) in
2004 to regulate the structure of distribution of films and to make it
auditable has failed to achieve the desired result.
Notable Nollywood filmmaker Lancelot Oduwa Imaseun lamented the
pitiable situation thus, “They have failed,” he said. He maintained
that the biggest barrier to them as practitioners was film distribution
and piracy. For Oduwa who has resorted to distribution his latest
feature film Invasion 1897 himself, the lack of effective distribution
mechanism was the reason why filmmakers do it their own way.

Not again! NFF sacks Stephen Keshi

The Nigerian Football Federation has sacked Stephen Keshi as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The termination of his appointment is contained in a statement released by NFF Executive Committee today Saturday July 4th. The statement in part reads;

"Having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles’ Head Coach. Keshi was found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the Coach’s employment contract. To this end and pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4.3 of the Employment Contract between Mr. Stephen Keshi and the NFF (The Contract) and the various clauses therein, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr. Stephen Keshi with the Federation with immediate effect.”
The Super Eagles’ team will now be jointly managed by Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF headed by Coach Shuaibu Amodu, until a substantive head coach is named by the Federation.

Saturday, July 4, 2015 Jeep filled with bomb recovered in Maiduguri

A press statement from the Defence Headquarters by the Director of Defence, Major Gen. Chris Olukolade states that they were able to recover a jeep filled with explosive devices in Maidugri and that more searches are being conducted to stop terroristic attacks.
The statement reads:
A jeep full of Improvised Explosives Devises was among the weapons recovered by troops conducting Cordon and Search Operations after suicide bombing attacks on Zabamari  Muna near Maiduguri. The jeep along with 2 Hilux vehicles being used by terrorists were destroyed in the course of pursuit and encounter with a group of terrorists trying to escape after simultaneous attacks on targets in the communities Thursday and Friday.

A total of 6 suicide bombers had detonated themselves around the garage killing scores of people while some people were also wounded. A soldier also died.
Military Explosives Ordinance experts backed by Police Bomb Disposal Units are continuing with vigorous search for any bombs that might have been hidden or left unexploded in the area.
Meanwhile, all other offensive operations of counterterrorist campaign against terrorists continuing in various fronts. Additional deployment of men and equipment to enhance the scope of the mission both within the country and at borders are also continuing.

Psquare Reveals Why They Quit Going To Church Since 2007

Psquare Brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye have revealed they
called going to church quit in 2007.
Despite their penchant for fasting and prayers, they have not
been going to church for close to a decade, but they insisted
the action has not affected their close relationship with God,
and is also not a result of arrogance.
According to reports online, the Okoye brothers said they tried
their hands on a couple of churches in their various area of
residence but had to put an end to it after congregations kept
focusing on them rather than their maker.
“Each time we attend, other worshipers would not listen to
the Pastor’s sermon again. All eyes will just be on us.
Instead of praying, some people will even decide to be
starring at us. We were not comfortable with that and
thought we were distracting a lot of people from serving
their God, so we said to ourselves that we should stop going.
All men are equal before God, so we don’t encourage people
to abandon their primary purpose of being in church
because of us.”

The deal between teacher, Colter Pierce, and one of his students began

Buhari will improve Nigeria, says wife

President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, on Friday assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari would do everything possible to improve living conditions in the country.
She therefore appealed to the public to support her husband to succeed.
Mrs. Buhari spoke during the traditional breaking of Ramadan fast she organised for the less privileged inside the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
She said, “I want to assure you that my husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, will do everything possible to improve the living conditions of every citizen.
“I also want to acknowledge your contributions in various fields to the
socio-economic development which are very important to the survival of our nation.
“You know that the nation is passing through a transition, therefore,
there is need for all to support this government to succeed.”
While acknowledging that her husband won the March 28 presidential election through team work, the President’s wife appealed that the team work should continue.
She said Buhari could not do it alone, hence the call for support.
“We won the election through team work. Let the team work continues.
The President cannot do it alone, he needs your support. Please support him,” she appealed.
Mrs. Buhari said she decided to organise the event to show love because both the privileged and the less privileged are all one in God’s sight.
She also lauded the peaceful conducts of Nigerians before and after the last elections, describing them as commendable.
She urged Nigerians to continue in the same spirit, adding that peace is
required for the progress of the country.
Mrs. Buhari was joined at the brief event by wife of the Imo State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha; wife of the Nassarawa State Governor, Mrs. Tanko Al-Makura: wife of the former governor of Rivers

The Barcelona midfielder has backed his side's pursuit of the duo and says Neymar will continue to learn after his Copa America problems Arda Turan and Paul Pogba would be welcome additions to Barcelona , says Andres Iniesta .
Barca have already seen an €80 million offer for Pogba rejected after a consortium met with Juventus officials in Italy this week.
Arda, meanwhile, is expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer and Barca presidential candidate Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed that Luis Enrique wants to sign the Turkey international.

"Pogba's a player that every great team wants to have. He's a young lad but with the talent and the strength for the best teams. If he comes and can be with us, he'll be well received," he said to reporters.
"He's a great player, a great talent with a lot of quality," he added of Arda. "If he ultimately comes, he'll be welcome, as any other team-mate would."
Iniesta also expressed his delight at Dani Alves' decision to sign a new contract and the arrival of Aleix Vidal from Sevilla.
"It's phenomenal that Dani will continue. I think he's one of the best signing in a long time," said the Spain star.
"Vidal's had a great season and he comes to a great team to keep improving."
Iniesta also believes Neymar will continue to learn as a player following his Copa America suspension for a post-match outburst at both players and the referee.

He's still young," he said.
Finally, the World Cup-winner from 2010 stated that Barca have every intention of going for a clean sweep of trophies in 2015-16 following their treble triumph in the past season.

'He can be Liverpool’s main man' - Fowler urges Rodgers to sign Benteke

The former striker says that signing a forward remains a priority at Anfield, even though they have already brought in six new faces, and is a huge fan of the Aston Villa star Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has urged manager Brendan Rodgers to
pull out all the stops to sign Christian Benteke this summer, believing that the striker would be the perfect signing.
Following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and with Daniel Sturridge
struggling for form and fitness, the Reds had major problems in front of goal last season, with midfielder Steven Gerrard topping the scoring charts with just nine goals.
But Fowler feels that Benteke is the answer to Liverpool's striking woes
and is convinced that he would be an ideal fit for the club's style of
play.
"The striker issue is a big thing," he told the Liverpool Echo . "We didn't have anyone who scored 10 Premier League goals last year and I can't remember the last time that happened at Liverpool.
"It's important we get a proven goalscorer and, of the names being bandied about, I'd go for Benteke. I think he's excellent.
"I know there are other top strikers out there and probably more prolific scorers but in terms of all-round play - strength, speed, physicality, finishing - I think Benteke could be the main man for Liverpool.
"I think we cross more balls into the box than any club in the league and I think Christian says he feeds off crosses. There's no point going to a club where they don't cross the ball."
Andy Carroll famously flopped at Liverpool and was unable to gel with
the philosophy that Rodgers implemented but Fowler is certain that Benteke is much more than a mere target man or battering ram.
"I've watched him a lot and he's not just a target man," he continued.
"He can hold the ball well and bring others into play but he's also mobile and keeps defenders on their toes.
"Before he got his injury I was very impressed with him and I was hoping we would sign him then. He had a slow start after getting back fit but, under Tim Sherwood, his form was superb.
"I think he's ideal for the way Brendan wants to play. It's probably what we lacked at times last season. We had forwards who wanted to drop deep to get involved with the play and we always had that gap up front.
"With a Benteke type, you have someone who will stay up there and stretch defenders. If you have someone who stretches the defence and makes the pitch bigger there's a lot more space for the likes of [Roberto] Firmino, [Philippe] Coutinho and [Jordan] Henderson to run
into."

Facebook photo helps reunite California woman with kidnapped son after 15 years

A California woman is crediting a Facebook photo with reuniting her
with her kidnapped son, 15 years after she says he was taken by his
father to Mexico.
On Wednesday, Hope Holland wrapped her arms around her now 18-year-old son, Jonathan, for the first time since he was 3 years old.
"Happy," the South Bay mother managed to choke out while summing up her feelings to reporters with tears pouring out of her
eyes.
The extremely emotional moment followed approximately five months
of back-and-forth communication with the couple after she stumbled upon an astonishingly familiar photo on Facebook, showing a pair of boys in a bath tub.
'I had no reason to believe I was finding my son. Ever since I found him, my whole world, my whole outlook and direction changed,' said Holland.
Jonathan was taken by his father, with whom Hope shared custody,
in 2000.
'His dad was going on vacation in Mexico and had permission to take him. It was a normal day. I didn't think he was not coming back,' Hope said. He never came back with Jonathan.
It was a photo she had taken years ago. It was Jonathan and his older brother Jacob.
"At first, my body responded with panic and excitement. Heart palpitations and sweat...my breathing out of control," she wrote on a GoFundMe page that recounts her incredible journey in finding him.
She admitted that up until that moment she had friended a number of people named Jonathan online who matched his description, so she knew not to get too excited.
But when she clicked on the connecting profile's name, her little boy, all grown up, was seen staring back at her.

Buhari -We may negotiate with Boko Haram

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and
Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, disclosed in an interview with the
BBC, that the Federal Government has said that it is open to
negotiations with the Boko Haram sect in order to find a lasting
solution to the security crisis in the country, if the group is willing.
In the interview, Adesina said the Federal Government was not ruling
out negotiations with the sect if it would put an end to the activities
of the group, stating that the insurgents had attacked so many
villages and killed scores of people.
When BBC asked if the Federal Government was considering
negotiations with the insurgent group, Adesina said:
"If they are willing, why not? You know attempts have been
made for negotiations in the past and they didn't work. Every
reasonable person would want to see the end to this
insurgency. So if they are willing, why not? You can't rule that
out."
"These were very vicious attacks. People were killed in scores
and it's so sad," he said.
The President had during his inauguration speech said he had
launched a strategy to deal with the sect by relocating the military
headquarters to Maiduguri, Borno State.
When asked if this would work, Adesina replied:
"This is going to work. There are machineries being put in
place. It's going to work. The recent killings by the sect were
meant to break our resolve, to weaken it, but that will stop. It
remains a priority to him (Buhari) to deal with the group.
"You will notice that his first two weeks of administration were
dedicated to tackling the insurgency. He visited Chad and
Niger Republics and the following week, the Presidents of
those countries also visited him in Abuja.
"The President of Benin Republic and the Defence Minister of
Cameroon visited him; machinery is being put in place and
once we're through, we will see the end of the group. The
target time for the deployment of the multinational force is July
ending; that is in a couple of weeks."
